Vintage Shearling Toggle Vest — Size 12 / Fits S–M

A little rugged, a little luxurious—and much more interesting than your average shearling vest.

This vintage cropped vest is constructed in warm camel-toned shearling with creamy exposed fleece along the edges and seams. The front features a deep V neckline and two oversized loop-and-toggle closures, while the paneled construction gives the piece beautiful texture from every angle.

The reverse side is particularly good: exposed fleece seams create an almost patchworked, deconstructed effect. We photographed it worn both conventionally and flipped inside-out because sometimes the best styling happens when you ignore the instructions.

The only surviving label is a size 12, but vintage sizing on this piece does not translate cleanly to a contemporary women's 12. Based on the actual fit, we recommend it for approximately a women's Small, with room for some Medium wearers when styled open. Please refer to measurements for the best fit.

Curator’s Note

We almost behaved ourselves with this one.

Worn as intended, it's a great little shearling vest—warm, textural and just rustic enough. Then we turned it inside-out.

And there she was.

All that exposed fleece and paneled construction suddenly felt less folk and more deconstructed luxury. So we're showing you both and leaving the rules out of it.

Over a crisp white shirt and chocolate trousers. Over a slip dress. Under an oversized coat. Or flipped around simply because you like that side better.
