c. 1970 Crimplene Psychedelic Floral Shirt
A bold vintage Crimplene shirt in an oversized floral print of plum, violet, teal and deep blue against a crisp ivory ground. Cut in a longline silhouette with a pointed collar, full button front and long sleeves, the graphic print gives this piece unmistakable late-’60s/early-’70s character.
The textured Crimplene knit holds its shape beautifully while still offering the easy, unfussy wear that made the fabric a defining textile of the period. Finished with patterned metal-tone buttons down the front.
Wear it buttoned as a statement blouse or open over a fitted knit or tee for an easy layered look.

Curator’s Note: A little textile history hiding in a very good print. Made from ICI’s Crimplene—the easy-care synthetic that became synonymous with 1960s fashion—this shirt captures the transition into the saturated color and graphic florals of the early 1970s. The exaggerated collar and wonderfully unapologetic print do the rest.
