A beautifully tailored pair of early-2000s Marc Jacobs mainline trousers, cut from 100% wool in classic black.

The silhouette is clean through the waist and hip before opening into a subtle flared leg—a shape that feels unmistakably of the era while looking remarkably current today. The front is deliberately minimal, allowing the tailoring and long line of the trouser to do the work.

Turn them around and the personality appears: two distinctive rounded flap pockets, each secured with a Marc Jacobs–engraved button. Additional branded hardware at the waist gives this otherwise understated pair a quiet designer signature.

Made in Poland from pure wool, these are substantial enough to hold their tailored shape while remaining fluid through the leg.

The black trouser is supposed to be the sensible one. Marc Jacobs apparently didn't get the memo.

From the front, these are beautifully restrained—pure black wool, a clean waist and just enough flare through the leg. Turn around and there are those two perfectly placed rounded pockets, each punctuated with a Marc Jacobs button.

That’s the reason we pulled them.

They give you everything you want from a great black trouser without disappearing into the rest of your wardrobe. Wear them with a fitted knit and pointed heel, an oversized white shirt, or something completely unexpected.
