1970s Vintage Lurex Colorblock Metallic Sweater — Size S

This vintage 1970s knit turns bold color blocking into something surprisingly sophisticated. The design begins in brilliant blue before moving through teal, deep magenta and warm mustard, with angled transitions that give the otherwise simple short-sleeve silhouette a distinctly graphic feel.

Metallic Lurex threads run throughout the knit, catching the light with a subtle shimmer rather than an all-out sparkle. A ribbed crew neckline, short sleeves and blue ribbed hem keep the shape clean, while three small buttons at the shoulder add an unexpected finishing detail.

Curator’s Note

The sparkle got my attention. The construction made me keep looking.

That sweep of color isn't simply striped across the sweater—it changes direction, wraps around the body and nearly disappears into the blue back. Then there are those three tiny shoulder buttons. It's playful without being precious and very much of its era without needing to be styled that way.

Exactly the kind of vintage LGV loves: unmistakable, but completely wearable now.
