1990s Pelle Studio by Wilsons Oxblood Leather Long Coat — Size XL

 This vintage Pelle Studio coat was made for Wilsons during the label’s 1990s era. Cut from 100% leather in a beautifully aged oxblood-burgundy, it has a long, clean silhouette that falls around the knee with subtle shaping through the body.

The design is restrained in the best way: a high convertible collar, paneled construction and vertical seaming give the coat structure without making it rigid. The front closure is tucked beneath a narrow placket for an uninterrupted line, while tonal Pelle Studio–branded buttons add a quiet signature detail.

Inside, the coat is fully lined in deep burgundy polyester, creating an almost monochromatic interior against the leather. A center back vent allows movement without interrupting the streamlined shape.

The leather shows the natural variation, creasing and surface character expected of a vintage piece—details that give the oxblood color even more depth.

Curator’s Note

There are leather coats, and then there are the ones that make the whole outfit.

What got me here is the color and the restraint. The oxblood has developed the kind of tonal variation that new leather can't imitate, while the long, relatively minimal silhouette keeps it from feeling overly “vintage.” Jeans and a knit are enough. The coat is the look.
