Vintage 1970s Guy Laroche Diffusion Paris Geometric Print Belted Dress

A striking vintage Guy Laroche Diffusion Paris dress with the kind of thoughtful construction that makes a simple silhouette feel special. Cut in black with a small-scale geometric motif in muted blue, red and ochre, the dress features a softly structured collar, dramatically gathered sleeves, fitted cuffs and a full skirt cinched by its matching fabric-covered belt.

The front placket is especially good: three visible black buttons are paired with two concealed snap closures, allowing the bodice to close securely without interrupting the line of the print. The long sleeves gather into buttoned cuffs, creating that exaggerated, softly voluminous shape that gives the dress so much of its period character.
